Inshore fishing along the Nosara coast
Inshore fishing means shallow coastal water, dramatic rock formations and wildlife close by. Trips usually fish in 60 to 130 feet of water, working more than ninety GPS waypoints to find the productive spots.
Techniques may include trolling, jigging, popping, bottom fishing, chumming and live bait. Possible catches include black, white and yellowfin tuna, red, cubera, yellowtail, mullet and rock snapper, roosterfish, amberjack, jack crevalle, bigeye jack, blue runner, rainbow runner, pompano, mahi-mahi and grouper.
This is the friendliest of the fishing trips for families and first-timers: the water is calmer, the ride out is short, and there is plenty of coastline and wildlife to look at between bites.
Schedule, meeting point and what to expect
Schedule. Half day 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM, or 1:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Full day 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
Meeting point. The beach next to Pilo’s Bar in Playa Garza. Please be there ten minutes early; a water taxi takes you from the beach out to the boat.
Capacity. 1 to 10 guests. The rate is per boat, so the price is the same whether you are two or ten.
Booking. Please book at least 5 days in advance. We reply to booking requests within 1 to 2 business days.
Good to know. Tell us about any food restriction when you book and we will plan the menu around it.
Fishing and wildlife departures leave from the same beach we do and are run together with our partner crew at Nosara Sea Saw Tours.
